Fees from January 2025
This note should be read in conjunction with the terms and conditions Parent Contract (The Contract). If there is any dispute between this note and the Contract the clauses of the Contract shall prevail.
School fees and additional charges may be paid in one of three ways:
•Direct Debit Termly (default) or Monthly
• Via the Parent Portal (Flywire)
• Fees in Advance Scheme
Direct Debit
Termly payment of school fees by DD will be made as follows: on the 27th day of the month (or soonest thereafter) as per below:
Autumn Term | - | 27th August |
Spring Term | - | 27th December |
Summer Term | - | 27th March |
Monthly payment equal to one quarter of the term’s fee will be collected on the first working day of each month as below:
One-quarter of the relevant term’s fee will be collected on the first working day of each month, as follows:
Additional charges (Extras) arising from the previous term are collected by DD in full as follows:
Autumn Term Extras | - | 1st February |
Spring Term Extras | - | 1st May |
Summer Term Extras | - | 1st September |
Note that Nursery Fees are treated as an ‘Extra’ but are due in the same term that they arise.
In all cases, if a DD should fail, then the balance of the term’s fees due becomes immediately payable.
The school may, at the discretion of the Bursar, accept fee payments by other methods than the above; in such case, payment in full needs to be made before the start of each term.
Following notification of the Fees/Extras becoming due, click on the relevant invoice on the Parent Portal to pay by card.
The school operates a scheme under which a family member, or someone else with the consent of the parents, may make an advance payment of fees by depositing a lump sum in the general funds of the school at any time after a place at the school has been accepted. In exchange for the Advance Payment, the school allows a discount in the fees, calculated at compound rates of interest, currently 3.75% (Aug 2023).
An Advance Payment should be made by cheque or BACS and may cover any number of terms, subject to a minimum of three terms and a maximum of the number of terms that would take the pupil up to the end of Year 8. Payments in cash cannot be accepted.
Note that Fees in Advance do not cover any Extras that may arise, which must be settled by DD or Flywire
Current universal entitlement is for up to 5 x 3 hour free education sessions from the term following a child’s 3rd birthday until the term in which their 5th birthday falls. Each child is eligible to receive 38 weeks x 15 hours funding each year but Saint Ronan’s can only offer 32 weeks, in line with its academic year. Hence the remaining 6 weeks are ‘lost’ and may not be claimed at another setting.
Subject to qualification, children, including 2 year olds, may be eligible for extended hours funding which allows up to a further 5×3 hour free education sessions. The criteria for eligibility are as follows:
The additional 15 hours of free childcare is available for families where both parents are working (or the sole parent is working in a lone-parent family), and each parent earns more than the equivalent of 16 hours a week at the national minimum or living wage, and earns less than £100,000 a year.
Please note that a DERN (an eligibility code) needs to be obtained from HMRC’s website to ensure this extended funding. Please start the process by the relevant deadline.
The amount of this entitlement is subject to changes in Government policy.
Please note that Saint Ronan’s School offers the funding in three hour periods in the mornings and the afternoons, as follows: 8:30 to 11:30 and 12:30 to 15:30. An additional charge arises for the periods of the day, morning and afternoon, outside these free periods. If free entitlement only is to be accessed, this can be achieved in the following periods only: 8:30 to 11:30 in the morning and 14:15 to 17:15 and children need to be dropped and collected in a timely manner to avoid additional charges.
Childcare Vouchers may be used to pay for childcare for children up to the age of 16. This means that After School Clubs, Breakfasts, Suppers, Holiday Clubs Nursery education and Boarding are covered but other Extras are not.
To be eligible for the vouchers, you need to be employed. This ‘salary sacrifice scheme’ would be a variance to your Terms and Conditions of Employment and would save you money on tax and National Insurance*
Further information can be found at:
Employers can pay vouchers directly to the school or through an Internet-based voucher provider. For further information on these Fees and Extras payment methods, please contact the Bursar or Finance Manager (01580 754 318).
*From 5 October 2018, childcare voucher schemes will close to new applicants. You may be able to get Tax-Free Childcare instead.
You can keep getting vouchers if you’ve joined a scheme and get your first voucher before the scheme closed in October 2018, as long as:
• you stay with the same employer and they continue to run the scheme
• you do not take an unpaid career break of longer than a year
If you wish to enquire about fees, or any other enquiries, they can be asked here also.
A wonderful school providing children with truly magical experience. So happy we made decision to send our daughter there. We just wish she could have stayed there longer.
Maja BTSaint Ronan’s is the best decision we ever made for our son. It is the most magical place, and the teaching and facilities are second to none. Most importantly, the kids are extremely happy. We feel very lucky to be part of such a wonderful school.
